About me
I have been a mental health clinician for more than 35 years and in that time have supervised individuals from a range of professional backgrounds from students through to senior leaders in a variety of organisations. I am a strong advocate for the importance of good quality supervision and employ a variety of approaches depending on the individual needs of the supervisee.
My experience
I have more than 35 years clinical experience in a wide variety of clinical mental health settings - from the high secure forensic and prison system, through to NDIS service provision. I also have extensive experience as a senior leader and project manager in public mental health as well as a strong commitment to supporting students and early career therapists as they begin their careers.
My current role/work
I currently work in a public mental health learning and teaching role and balance this with work in private practice.
My training
Over the course of my career I have undertaken a range of international supervision training workshops.
My approach to supervision
I employ a reflective, strengths based, solution focused approach to my supervision relationships. I aim to empower the supervisee to lead the sessions and to develop a safe space where all aspects of their work can be explored. I am a strong advocate for the importance of good quality supervision and believe that it is imperative as occupational therapists that we commit to this integral part of our development.
